  • It was a very exciting experience being that it was not only my son's first real train ride, but mine as well

The Albuquerque commuter train, also known as the Santa Fe Express, was an excellent way to spend an afternoon in New Mexico. My son had wanted to ride the “big train”, so we went to check ticket prices.

The price for an all day pass from Albuquerque to downtown Santa Fe was only

      $8 for adults.

We sat on the upper deck in one of the very nice and very well kept cars.

It was a very exciting experience being that it was not only my son’s first real train ride, but mine as well.

The ride to Santa Fe can be a wonderful day ...

      • trip for those who would like to visit Santa Fe in an extraordinary way.

The train drops you off right at the city square where all the neat shops are located.

If you leave on one of the morning trains you can stay as long as you would like, and return on the

        evening train.

If you prefer to stay the night in historic downtown Santa Fe, no need to worry because the train ticket back to Albuquerque is very reasonably priced.

Overall: a wonderful day with my kids on an exceptionally clean, exceptionally smooth, and exceptionally priced train.

We cannot wait to go back and visit.
