Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel was released in 2009 and continued the success of Alvin, Simon, and Theodore as musical superstars.

Jason Lee plays Dave Seville, who suffers an Alvin type of accident and ends up in traction at the hospital. He sends the Chipmunks to live with Aunt Jackie, only cousin Toby (Zachary Levi) ends up causing her to land in the hospital, too. This put the boys under Toby’s juvenile

The real fun, though, is watching the Chipmunks attend high school, where Alvin ends up on the football team with a swelled head. Worse, Alvin and Simon fight a lot and poor Theodore wondering if his family is being split apart.

Complicating the lives of Chipmunks are the Chipettes, a trio of female Chipmunk singers who challenge the boys for a chance to sing for the high school. Naturally, love is in the ...

I enjoyed the movie quite a bit. It’s amazing how emotional you can get from animation. I really felt for Theodore’s internal trauma, and I loved when Alvin came to his senses.

Then there was a super exciting moment for me. I’m a huge NASCAR fan and by accident, those guys over at ESPN created an animated chipmunk named Digger. Digger had his own segments last year, in fact.

I couldn’t believe it when he had a cameo in this movie. It was a real hoot!

Some of the movie is a little over the top, but it’s a make believe world where chipmunks are superstars. I can deal with that. This is a nice escape from reality that is entertaining and fun and good for the entire family. It makes you feel good, and that’s super important these days.
