      The great Kirk Douglas was the honoree who was roasted on this edition of The Dean Martin Comedy Hour. I like to see performers of his caliber in the hot seat. Usually someone like Douglas means more appropriate people on the dais, though not

      always.

      One of my favorite bits of the show was Rich Little, who was right on target with his impersonations, especially the ones he did of Kirk Douglas himself. It was one of Little’s better spots on the roasts on which he’s appeared many times. He really was the leader of this type of entertainment.

      What Lynn Anderson has to do with Kirk Douglas is beyond me, but she is lovely and was all the rage in country music back in that era. It just amazes me how this show used ...
