  • He did okay, but wasn't all that funny, but to my surprise, comedian Corbett Monica had one of the best lines of the night dealing with Zsa Zsa's stolen credit card not being reported to the police by her husband because the thief was spending less than she was
  • It's nice to see this outing once, but once is definitely enough

It’s a Woman of the Week for The Dean Martin Comedy Hour. That’s an unusual occurrence as there really weren’t that many women celebrated in these roasts that took place over the years. The lucky female was none other than Hungarian Zsa Zsa Gabor. Naturally, the marriage card was at the center of much of the humor. Zsa Zsa’s been wed many

times. It began with Dean’s zingers and continued on through the dais.

Donald O’Connor was the first to tease Zsa Zsa about her love life. He did okay, but wasn’t all that funny, but to my surprise, comedian Corbett Monica had one of the best lines of the night dealing with Zsa Zsa’s stolen credit card not being reported to the police by her husband ...

      • because the thief was spending less than she was.

Zsa Zsa’s comments at the end were about as good as anyone else who spoke on the podium. Country singer Donna Fargo did an idiotic bit about Zsa Zsa and Howard Cosell being the same. It was so bad that I cringed. Charles Nelson Reilly did some silly bit that went nowhere. Ruth Buzzi

showed up again in her Gladys Ormsby Laugh-in character and tried to say she was another Gabor sister.

Aside from the odd line here and there, this episode was pretty flat. Zsa Zsa looked great, but the zingers sank and there’s only so long you can tease about her marriages and such and have it be funny.

It’s nice to see this outing once, but once is definitely enough.
