  • I didn’t want to be bothered to look for, and pay for, a salon or a hair product store where I could buy one of my usual brands, so being cheap, I decided to pick up some shampoo at the drugstore where I was shopping
  • I rinsed thoroughly, and noticed my hair felt soft
  • Just for the fragrance and price alone, I would recommend it, but it also does nothing at all negative to hair, and it actually moisturizes very well

While traveling in the US, I discovered that I left my travelling shampoo at home. I didn’t want to be bothered to look for, and pay for, a salon or a hair product store where I could buy one of my usual brands, so being cheap, I decided to pick up some shampoo at the drugstore where I was shopping. While at Walmart, I finished my shopping, and wandered over to the hair care section. Because I wasn’t going to take whatever was left in the container when I returned home, because I was flying, I picked the least expensive shampoo for dry hair that I could

find. That was Suave Almond and Shea Butter Shampoo, at less than $2.00! I can truthfully say that not only have I never tried anything by this brand before, but I wouldn’t have even considered it before. I didn’t even think about it when I put it in my cart, intending on using it for the remainder of my stay, which was only 2 days. I was pretty sure it wouldn’t be high quality, for that price, but I was hoping it would not damage my hair.

The next morning, I took the shampoo into the shower with me. I opened the top, and I will say that ...

      • the fragrance was wonderful; the combination of almond and shea butter is nutty, rich and spicy. It reminded me of some of my high-end body butters. The shampoo itself is thick and rich, and lathers very well, with only a small amount being necessary. The scent is nicer while lathering than just from the container. Well, I thought, at least this shampoo smelled nice, even if it would not be good for my hair. I rinsed thoroughly, and noticed my hair felt soft. I then blow-dried it, and to my great surprise, my hair still felt soft and smooth, and wasn’t limp like so often happens when
I use cheap hair products. While I would not say that I saw a difference in regards to shine or volume, my hair smelled great all day, was manageable and moisturized, and looked great.

I may have to re-think my aversion to inexpensive drugstore brand hair products. At less than $2 for a bottle, I would certainly advise those people who have dry hair to try Suave Almond and Shea Butter Shampoo. Just for the fragrance and price alone, I would recommend it, but it also does nothing at all negative to hair, and it actually moisturizes very well. Needless to say, I didn’t throw it away when I returned home!
