The Girls’ Book of Excellence is a sequel to the girls’ book: How to Be the Best at Everything. It supposedly contains ‘even more ways to be the best at everything’. And there is an appealing amount of information on how to solve problems and do things in the first book, so I expected more of the same from this book.

      It’s a

fun book with a variety of activities, but I don’t think it in any way teaches you how to be the best at anything. First off, it doesn’t really teach you how to be the best at anything, more just how to do some things.

The book contains instructions for things like magic tricks, card games, how to clean your room quickly, and ...

      • how to run away from a charging elephant. So some of it is useful and some of it, not so much. (When are you going to encounter an elephant?) A lot of it is fairly basic - how to make popcorn, that kind of thing. And there are a few girly things, like how to apply make up, but most of it
is general craft or clever trick type things, so I’m not sure how that is just for girls.

The instructions are clear and step by step so they are easy to follow. Some of the activities are quite fun for people to do. In general, this is a fun book to just flip through and find a way to entertain yourself.
