The town of Lewes Delaware is rather historic, but uniquely combines history with the trendiest restaurants and art shops for those who enjoy a sense of modern culture. It is the type of place where you can drive to the town, park your car, and walk along the sidewalks touring all of the various shops, stores, and restaurants for an entire day.

Got a dog? One of my favorite things about Lewes is that its a haven for pet lovers.

So, I, like many tourists will

bring my dog with me right into the various stores and shops and they are always treated with pleasant greetings and a great deal of love! Heck, there is even a doggie shop on the main street in Lewes where your little one with a tail can pick out his own doggie cookies and treats and shop for himself! Aside from shopping, Lewes has its own beach that is the bay.

It is a great place for adults to get some sun and read a book by ...

      • the relaxing sound of the waves brushing the beautiful shoreline, or for families to enjoy taking their youngsters out rafting.

At the end of Lewes Beach, there is the Lewes Fairy, which can take you over to Cape May New Jersey.

You can acutally park your car on the Ferry in and of itself, and take the hour or so ride over to Cape May, tour that beach, and then enjoy a relaxing ride back to Lewes in the evening.

Lewes is probably my favorite beach of

        all times.

It offers a wide array of things to do and while it gets packed enough to make things interesting, it does not get so crowded that you feel chlostrophobic or anxiious.

The only downside to the whole trip is that what used to be Delaware’s best kept secret in terms of great beaches, has now been discovered by people from Maryland, Washington, New York, and even Southerners.

The recent burst in popularity can make for some dense traffice encounters both going to Lewes, and leaving it!
