Senator Ramon, “Bong” Revilla, Jr. is seeking re-election as Senator for 2010 Philippine National Election. Survey says he is now leading the senatorial slate.

Well now I believe that popularity is one way to win an election. I’ve read the resume of Senator Bong Revilla but despite the long list of awards and recognition I could not find anything in those awards I could not be convinced to vote for him.

Well I did not vote for him in 2004 anyway and will not vote for him no matter how popular he could be. He surely will win anyway even without my vote but at least I did not vote for this man. He is an actor and to me he should rather stay as actor all his life.

Well in fairness, this actor have pursued programs for the welfare of his fellow actors and workers in the industry. In

a way this is self-serving but at least it helped even the least noticeable ones. He also have authored and co-authored several bills as he himself claimed. Well I know he pushed the Legitimation of Children Born to Minor Parents Act, and Anti-Child Pornography, Mandatory Helmet Bill for all motorcycle riders, including backriders, Well at least this actor turned senator is trying to be a sensible senator. However, although I know Revilla is trying to make his presence felt at the Senate the best way he could, he still could not impress me. This is because I have observed several instances where is acts with no sense at all.

Just lately he is pushing anew for the bill that seeks to expand the prohibited acts of discrimination against women workers. This senator said that women have been outnumbering men in employment for the past few years.

      • Well so what? In the first place, it is the men who should be breadwinners and hence has to work first and foremost? Beside, there has never been such kind of discrimination. A woman in our country can always get hired provided she has the qualification so what is the sense of the bill? Of course a woman has some limitations. They can’t work in some fields that require physical strength only a man can afford. But even man can’t also work in some fields that are too feminine for them.

He authored this controversial Anti-Voyeurism Bill or Anti-Boso Bil which is meant to curb the production of sex scandal videos. I found too much grandstanding on this issue. Bong Revilla has overused the sex videos scandal of Katrina Halili and Hayden Kho to his advantage. He wanted to look like a hero here. Katrina

thought she found a strong ally on him but I believe Bong Revilla is just using this issue to gain media mileage. Bong Revilla was trying to act like a protector and defender of Katrina. It was like portraying a role in film. I saw the senate investigation on this issue and Bong Revilla’s questions have no substance at all. He looked stupid in all those non-sense questions like this one: “Katrina how do you feel now?” How non-sense this actor/senator could be!

Well perhaps I could ignore Revilla for his being non-sense in those instances but one thing I could not take is his lack of moral values. He is a certified womanizer. A man who could not give his marriage an honorable treatment and could defile his matrimonial bed without fear and shame does not merit any respect. Now can you blame me if I could not vote for this man?
