  • I believe he was not aspiring for that position and not prepared yet for it
  • Although in my opinion Noynoy is sensible on his own way and not a bad choice as the quite dumb Joseph Estrada, he certainly did not inherit his Dad’s amazing power of speech
  • I’ve watched him on Presidential debates and I found him quite lacking

Benigno Aquino III or Noynoy as he is more fondly called made a very big entrance into the 2010 Philippine Presidential list of Presidential candidates last year. This man obviously never really dreamed to become a President but he was finally convinced by the strong persuasive power of people behind him.

Noynoy was obviously not even thinking to run for this Presidential race. In fact, previously, he was just laughing off questions on his possible bid for Presidency. I believe he was not aspiring for that position and not prepared yet for it. I believe being a President was not even part of his plans before.

However, the death of his mother opened a way for him. His sister, the famous Kris Aquino started it all in her tearful and moving speech during their Mommy’s (Cory) interment. Well the supporters took that as a hint and they did not stop till

they were able to convince the beleaguered Noynoy. Since the day Noynoy announced his candidacy, he started topping the Presidential surveys, dislodging the former number one, Manny Villar.

Now what would I say about Noynoy? Noynoy obviously has not much accomplishments to boast about. In all his senate stints, he has not been remarkable. His only advantage is being the only son of the great Ninoy Aquino and Cory Aquino. In his Presidential ad, he said this words “Hindi ako magnanakaw!” which when translated in English means “ I will not steal!” Well I believe this man. His root is undoubtedly honorable. He has a father who died for his country and a mother who ruled the country with zero corruption record to her credit. I believe Noynoy himself will be just as honest as her mother. However, I doubt it if Noynoy could be just as great as his Dad. Although in ...

      • my opinion Noynoy is sensible on his own way and not a bad choice as the quite dumb Joseph Estrada, he certainly did not inherit his Dad’s amazing power of speech. During Ninoy’s time, whenever he speaks, it was like he can turn the world upside down. He is one kind of speaker that will keep you to your seat and would make your listening enjoyable and even breathtaking. He was capable of speaking long lines without tiring me up at all. But Noynoy although not senseless is no match to his father’s admirable eloquence. I’ve watched him on Presidential debates and I found him quite lacking. This man obviously looks raw for Presidency. Another thing that keeps keeping him stagnant is his campaign strategy. It is so focused on talking about the bad side of the administration. The people know those things already so why waste time talking about them.
He is talking a lot about how he hates and dislikes the present government instead of focusing more on what are his capabilities, his qualifications and his specific plans to make this nation great again. Well this is perhaps the reason why Manny Villar has been able to regain the lead in the surveys lately. He knows the weakness of the masses and he is capitalizing on that. However, honestly if there would only be just two candidates and they are Villar and Noynoy for this Philippine Presidential Election 2010, then I am voting for no less than Noynoy Aquino. Indeed Noynoy has not much achievements yet and not as eloquent as his Dad but I believe he is an honest guy and if only for his integrity then I would vote for him instead of Villar who has unsettled corruption cases and have been lavishly spending for his presidential campaign.
