Emerald Point N.A.S.: Episode 18 - The Climax continues the soap opera elements that made the show what it was. Part of the most difficult elements to watch is the obsession that David Marquette (Michael Brandon) has for Maggie Farrell (Maud Adams). It’s positively spooky, even now when the stuff that happened in this series was fairly tame.

It goes a lot to Brandon for making this part so unnerving.

Then there’s the evil Russian spy played by Robert Loggia. He’s a well respected actor, but frankly he’s always bored me. He has some zest to this character, but not enough to make me that interested. His character is playing kidnapper in this episode, forcing Jill St.

      • John to go with him. It’s hard to feel sorry for her character because she’s done a lot of unpleasant things throughout her tenure.

One of the things that I do enjoy about this military soap opera is that no matter what, the family shines through. I love the tightness of the Mallory sisters, even when times are tough and

they are arguing and divided. Something tragic brings them together in this episode for a few scenes, and it’s good to watch.

I was very taken with the intense discussion that went on between two of the Russians, Alexi and Dimitri. It’s all about choices, and it’s very dramatic in all that happens.

This is pretty good episode as it advances the storyline.
