CHiPs: Aweigh We Go gets it name from the fact that Officers Baker and Poncerello (Erik Estrada and Larry Wilcox) put in some duty time at the trucker’s weigh station. It’s not one they are thrilled about, but I like it. I’m for all these kinds of stories that takes them away from the normal street scenes we

see. It’s a change of pace and shows us something different. Variety is the spice of life, and CHiPs.

The internal storyline deals with Ponch having his heart set on buying a boat he sees during an accident. Jon agrees to partner with him, but then Getraer (their sergeant) buys it. Ultimately, the three attempt to co-own ...

      • the boat together. You just know that this is going to lead to disaster in all the best humorous ways.

There was one rescue that seemed to really push the boundaries of believability in which Ponch goes over the side of a cliff to rescue a mother and child whose car is hanging by a thread. It’s one of

those cases when they act so fast that proper care isn’t taken to secure Ponch or even try to get help.

Bruce Glover does a neat job as Sergeant Vogt who runs the weigh station. He’s a bit antagonistic at first, but then he comes around. He has a good luck and he fits this role quite well.

        It’s another pleasing episode.
