The first episode of 1978 as the premier season of CHiPs continued was called One Two Many. The name for this show comes from the unfortunate fact that there seem to be one too man Jon Bakers around. In other words, there’s a wannabe cop running around pretending to be Jon,

only he’s not exactly CHP worthy, especially with how he talks to the ladies.

The side story has Ponch’s motor home having some work done on it, so he moves in with Jon for awhile, and he likes what he sees. Perhaps I should have written ‘who’ he sees. It seems Jon ...

      • is very popular with the ladies in his apartment complex. The fun, though, is that these two are like Oscar and Felix; they are the Odd Couple of the California Highway Patrol. Jon’s neat and quiet; Ponch is messy and loud. The way this story ends is really funny.

        Trish Stewart

guest starred as Jobina, one of the victims of the look-a-like. I liked her feistiness, but this scene was another one that wasn’t that well directed. It’s the actions that Jon and Ponch take that are actually a little disturbing, even for the day.

As a complete hour, this show was a good one.
