  • Most new phones (including nokia N97, N97mini, 5800 and so on, do have an internal GPS antenna, unfortunately though this 'antenna' is quite weak and can take up to 20 minutes to actually find a signal
  • One of the best perks though is that if you use this antenna you won't drain the cellphone battery which is a huge perk as the phone GPS antenna literarily drains the battery
  • The antenna only costs around 30 euro, and trust me if you intend to use GPS on a phone then you definitely need this

The new Bluetooth GPS receiver offers 66 channels and is compatible with nearly all modern phones whith bluetooth connections and GPS map capability. Most new phones (including nokia N97, N97mini, 5800 and so on, do have an internal GPS antenna, unfortunately though this ‘antenna’ is quite weak and can take up to 20 minutes to actually find a signal.

With the Bluetooth antenna you can

actually receive a signal within 20 seconds to max 2 minutes.

Another great advantage to using the bluetooth antenna is the fact that the signal is much stronger and as a result it is much harder to lose.

The antenna can actually get a signal even in trecherous climatic conditions.

One of the best perks though is that if you use this antenna you won’t ...

      • drain the cellphone battery which is a huge perk as the phone GPS antenna literarily drains the battery.

The bluetooth antenna battery on the other hand lasts quite a long time (around 3 hours).

The antenna is much more precise (2-5 meters instead of 15-20meters) assuring you that you will not get lost.

The antenna only costs around 30 euro, and trust me if you

intend to use GPS on a phone then you definitely need this.

Without it it is quite frustrating and will cause you to just give up on it.

It is especially neccessary if you purchased Garmin Mobile XT (compatible with the bluetooth antenna).

an excellent GPS mapping software, unfortunately quite useless with internal mobile gps antennas.

All in all a great purchase, no drawbacks and very reliable.
