      CHiPs: Hustle is a hoot of an episode when the legendary Broderick Crawford appeared as himself. It was a big deal at the time, too. For this freshman series, it’s a seal of approval in a way. Ponch is star struck, which is no surprise, while Jon plays it cool. The

      little bits about this that play out through the episode are great fun to watch.

      “The baby seems fine.” This is the second time Jon and Ponch tell this or something like it to paramedics after dealing with some type of rescue that involves a baby. How the heck do they know? It ...


      • wouldn’t stand out so much if these were just ambulance drivers who don’t have much more training than that have CPR like the officers do. However, paramedics have much more medical training than policemen, so it’s really out of place to have these kind of comments with paramedics just nodding their heads and agreeing.

        There’s

        also a couple of humorous traffic court stories, with Kay Peters playing the judge. The main one features Marty Ingels as a man who is trying to get out of a ticket. He follows Ponch all over and gets incriminating pictures. It’s an entertaining bit.

        This episode is pretty darn good from beginning to end.
