From September 2008, Stargate Atlantis: Whispers, episode 7 of season 5, again brings back the delightful character of Dr. Carson Beckett, played by Paul McGillion. They also have something new, an all female SG team. Now that’s a first.

The good and bad of Whispers from my point of view follows:

      –I find it

odd that Sheppard is supposed to be so high up in the chain of command at Atlantis and yet he’s completely unaware of the make up of this team. Apparently, Sheppard either isn’t good at his job, or he’s not really in the know. This is a huge discrepancy in the way ...

      • this series is supposed to work.

–“Make sure they don’t geek out too much.” That’s a Sheppard line that is very reminiscent of Jack O’Neill from Stargate SG-1. I’m not sure if this line is a high or low, but it stuck out to me.

–There’s too much ’spook’ time in this episode.

Was it Halloween or something? Basically, everyone spends most of the show just running around looking for goblins.

–While I somewhat enjoyed the little brewing relationship between Beckett and Alison Porter (Nicole de Boer), it just doesn’t go anywhere, and that’s too bad.

Overall, the show was just a small scale horror movie, and I’m not into horror.
