  • The only interesting special effect was how your ride harness pressed down on your shoulders when Stitch was supposed to be jumping on you
  • The only people I can recommend it for are children who are huge Stitch fans, but even that is a stretch as young children could be frightened by the special effects

Stitch’s great escape is a no more then a glorified theatrical show. The ride is located in Tomorrow Land at Walt Disney World. The ride has seasonal fast passes and replaced the the previous show, the ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter. Stitch’s great escape is a far cry from what that show ever was.

The ride is a prequel to the Disney movie Lilo & Stitch. The show begins in the queuing area where you get a small demonstration of how aliens are transferred into the main area (where the main show takes place). This queuing area is actually quite entertaining and pays homage to

the past attraction in this building by using the alien from the previous ride, although a toned down more kid friendly version. The queuing area will provide some laughs if you pay attention, but with most guests waiting to get to the main show sometimes this show is not as enjoyable.

You are then brought into the main staging area. Here you are sat down and a shoulder restraint is lowered down. Here, while it might seem like you are in for a stomach churning spinning ride, don’t worry you stay still the entire ride. The show then commences as you are told ...

      • that an alien has been captured. The alien is Stitch, who quickly escapes and unleashes havoc on the audience. This includes spitting water, strobe lights, and even a belch . Stitch is soon controlled and the ride is over.

Me and my girl friend went on this ride for the first time this past fall and we both hated it. The queuing area was quite entertaining and we both were excited for the main portion of the ride. Unfortunately the ride was horrible. Not only was the special effects lame, especially compared to the past attraction, but the belch was so

rancid you left the ride completely queasy. The only interesting special effect was how your ride harness pressed down on your shoulders when Stitch was supposed to be jumping on you.

I would never go on this ride again. The only people I can recommend it for are children who are huge Stitch fans, but even that is a stretch as young children could be frightened by the special effects. The only redeeming quality of this attraction is the pre-show. If you must go on this ride, I’m sorry. If you can watch the pre-show then leave do so, you’ll thank me.
