Adam-12: Wednesday Warrior is the final episode of the fourth season for this wonderful police drama which stars Martin Milner and Kent McCord as Officers Pete Malloy and Jim Reed. Gary Crosby returns as Officer Ed Wells, and he has an important role in this outing. It seems he’s been partnered with a friend

of Reed’s, a rookie, Albert Porter, played by Steve Franken. To say that any character played by Franken is menacing would be delusional. He usually is either nerdy or crazy. Here, he’s book smart, but not so street savvy. All of this means that Reed is worried about his friend.

      Part of the ...

      • fun of the show is watching Reed vent to Malloy. He feels overly responsible because he recommended Porter participate in the reserves, which is what he’s doing. The other part is seeing Porter earn the respect of Wells in an act of bravery. I love seeing the underdog prove himself.

        Kathleen Lloyd has a

nice bit in this show as a bank teller who was the victim of a bank holdup. I met her once, so always tend to notice her in a show. She has that nice blend of spark and intelligence that makes her entertaining to watch.

Overall, this is a nice conclusion to another year of Adam-12 viewing.
