Bring ‘Em Back Alive: Dead Run is another standard; no, make that, below average outing of an adventure series that just has never found its core. With Bruce Boxleitner starring as Frank Buck, big game hunter and adventure seeker, the show just doesn’t know what it wants to be

and when it tries to be one thing, it does it so badly that no one cares, except maybe fans of the series’ star.

The guest stars for this Dead Run failed outing are Katherine Moffat and Michael Preston, though neither are very impressive.

The show starts out with Frank Buck promising ...

      • to get a leopard for the woman and then we jump to a nasty man named Harry Larkin, who is running a native tribe. Buck knows him from Singapore; they aren’t necessarily friends. About the only good thing here is that in the end, Larkin gets his just
reward. That’s probably the thing this show does do best — the good guys win and the bad guys die.

The best part of this episode? Well, there was a nice ending, although once again, it’s another Buck long-distance romance in the making. I have one word for that.
