I was prescribed Xanax to help deal with anxiety. I was prescribed the lowest dose, and I was supposed to just take it as needed if I felt like I was having a panic attack - ie. shortness of breath, shaking hands, stressed out, etc. Although I was really apprehensive about taking this medicine, I found that it worked really well for me. Within about twenty minutes after taking it, I noticed that I was more relaxed, and that the panick symptoms I had been experience, had completely gone away or had pretty signifigently reduced to a point that it was managable. I would say that like with all medications, they can’t completely do everything for you. As far as the physical side effects of anxiety, or panic, however, I have found Xanax to be very helpful.
