Lets talk about my Christmas present that I got this year. I have been wanting a flat screen television for my basement area for about a year or so but haven’t had the time to actually go out and shop for it. My husband kept asking me what type of flat screen I wanted but I couldn’t really tell him because I hadn’t done my research so he ended up buying me the Hitachi 50VS810 Pro HD flat screen. You better understand that I was shocked when I woke up Christmas morning with a 50 in flat screen television under the tree.

I’m not sure how much he paid for it but I do know that it was well over $1000. He claims that he got some type of deal for it but there is really no telling what type of deal he got. I think he just said that so I wouldn’t trip over the money he might have spent.

My experience with the Hitachi 50VS810 Pro HD flat screen is positive so far. I find that it comes with great features and functionality. First of all it’s a projection type television and it’s also an LCD screen. So you have to understand that the clarity of the screen itself is indescribable.

I think that I love the fact that the resolution is 720i and that is so hot. My husband taught me about 720i and 1080i. I know that 1080i is a better resolution that 720i but with this television it seems as if 720i is so much better to me. My husband told me that if he would have bought this television for himself then he would have gotten the 1080i because of the screen size. But since it was for me he figured I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. Either way I actually like this television. It makes my DVD movies play so good as well as my Wii.

Another thing I like about the Hitachi 50VS810 Pro HD flat screen is the USB connector. I think that the connector is neat because it allows me to connect to my computer which allows me to display my netflix movies. It’s easy to access and I Think that is the best part of having that option.

Oh and lets not talk about the auto-power off feature. I had forgot to turn my tv off when I went to bed a few days ago and came back and it was off. I was amazed by that feature and now I don’t have to worry about remembering to turn it off. I also like the screen saver, it was customizable and cute. Whenever I wasn’t watching the television, my screen saver would come on.

The bottom line to me is this, I wanted a great TV for my basement but didn’t know what to get. I ended up getting this great flat screen which plays well. It has a beautiful build and it’s just all around classy. I don’t know how much it cost but hey whatever it was, it was well worth it.
