Omron Digital Blood Pressure MonitorItem: Omron Digital Blood Pressure Monitor
I was diagnosed with high blood pressure a couple of years ago. My doctor felt that it was best if I bought a home blood pressure monitor since she wanted me to keep track of my blood pressure. My blood pressure was not that high at the time but with a family history like mine (father died of heart attack at 39, paternal grandmother had two strokes due to high blood pressure - last one killed her, my mother has high blood pressure as does my sister….you get the point)she definitely wanted me keeping up with it. That way, if my blood pressure did not get better by using the medicine she prescribed, she could adjust the prescription or give me another one.
I had no idea what kind of monitor to buy so I just chanced buying one according to price since I have no health insurance and very little money. I ended up buying the Omron Digital Blood Pressure Monitor since it was reasonably priced and seemed easy to use. I was right about the easy to use part. Put your arm in the cuff, push a button and sit quietly while the machine blows up the cuff and then counts down your blood pressure. After a few seconds, it beeps and you can see not only your blood pressure, but your heart rate, too. Really simple. The Omron Digital Blood Pressure Monitor is also very lightweight and easy to stick inside your purse so that you can have it at all times. The readout on the Omron Digital Blood Pressure Monitor is also very large, so that even those of us with bad eyesight can read what it is saying. The hardest part of using the Omron Digital Blood Pressure Monitor is where to place the cuff, but that is the same with all blood pressure monitors. Instructions come with it, so just read and follow and pretty soon, you get the hang of it. The Omron Digital Blood Pressure Monitor is also very sturdy. I have dropped it on the floor a few times, since I am a klutz and carry it with me everywhere I go, and yet it still keeps working. I do not advise anyone to go out and throw it on the sidewalk or drop kick it, but I am saying that it still works and nothing ever seems to crack on the outside either. Also, I do not have to change the batteries in this blood pressure monitor that often even though I use it two or three times a day. The only problem I have, which as I said before is probably the same with most blood pressure monitors, is the fact that sadly, I have gained weight. My arms have gotten larger and I will need to get a bigger cuff. I have not got online to see if The Omron Digital Blood Pressure Monitor has another larger cuff that will fit on my unit, since the airway does slide in and out if need be, but I will start my search soon. I would rather buy a larger cuff for the Omron Digital Blood Pressure Monitor than buy a new one. Rating: 9
