“Sing for Him” by Joni TindallItem: “Sing for Him” by Joni Tindall
I was one time looking for new Song Album of my favorite Christian singer and speaker Joni Earekson Tada but my searches led me to one singer who is also named Joni. Her name is Joni Tindall and her album titled “Sing for Him” caught my attention. I was then in need of inspiration from Christian singers who could sing songs for Jesus without any hysterics and pretensions. I am no fan of those Christian Charismatic groups and performers who are over-doing their performances. When I looked at the selections in Joni Tindall’s album I got quite interested. The selections are combination of familiar hymns and some new songs I have not really heard. The selections include: The First, The Last, Adonai, Blessed Assurance, If You Had Known Me, It is Well With My Soul, Do They See Jesus in Me, I Surrender All, Jesus Is Mine, Just a Prayer Away, Heroes, His Eye is On The Sparrow, and I Wish You Enough.
However, although I find the selection quite exciting, I had no idea of how Joni Tindall sounds. I would not know how to make decision because I have not really heard this singer and she sounds really new to me. I tried searching over the net to know more about her and thanks to the wonder of the internet because I found the demo tracks that I needed. They gave me a vivid feel of Joni Tindall’s voice. Well, I should say, she impressed me and from the demo tracks alone I made the final decision to buy her album “Sing For Him”. I did not regret having bought Joni Tindall’s “Sing for Him”. This singer is one of the very few Christian singer that could penetrate my heart and soul. She sings with breeziness that brings healing to the soul. Her voice is calm and cool and yet filled with warmth and passion that can only be heard from someone who has a genuine experience of Jesus Christ. Her voice manifests exceptional serenity. She sounds a bit like Karen Carpenter in Just a Prayer Away but I should say she is more effective than her. Her “Do They See Jesus in Me” became my instant favorite. The message is a reflection of my very own desire. This is a simple message in a simple tune but the meaning is as deep as the deepest sea. “Jesus Is Mine” is in a light, bouncy tempo and it sounds really good too. I also like her reassuring and touching rendition the great Fanny Crosby’s composition, “Blessed Assurance”. Even the very commonly heard, “I Surrender All” has a special touch. Her rendition of every song is simple but there something in her voice that will move and fascinate you without end. Her tone has some similarities to that of Karen Carpenter and even that of Jonie Eareckson but still it is unique in its own. Even the piano has been really lovely. Each song has neat and mesmerizing instrumentation. I should say each song is polished and simply beautiful. Indeed this album “Sing for Him” will warm the heart of every Christian. I recommend this Album to any Christian who needs some revival. Rating: 10
