Deworming is a routine treatment which I administer to my kids every 6 months, especially when they were younger. I never knew what things and organic matter they put in their mouths whenever they were playing even under my watchful eye. In addition, I felt that they had parasites in their bodies which would make them lose their appetites. My doctor recommended that I should use a deworming medication regularly and prescribed Vermox. I got the 30 ml suspension which was in a glass bottle. It comes with child proof screw cap and a plastic cup which I used to give the liquid to my kids, The flavor is not very well liked by my kids but I had to give it to them to get rid of parasites. “Well liked” is a mild term because there was so much resistance to this medication. The only thing that convinced them was when I said that they would have all sorts of worms crawling out of their bodies if they did not drink up. Mebendazole at 20 mg per ml is the active substance of this
medication which gets rid of all kinds of worms such as pinworms, threadworms in the body. Apart from the taste which my kids did not like, Vermox was well tolerated by them and they showed no manifestations of having counter reactions like nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. It was as if they did not take this medication at all. This suspension is also easy to take for my kids as they did not have to do anything special like eating before taking the medication or following certain diets. They took the medication and continued with their usual day to day activities. Altogether, I recommend this deworming suspension as it is well tolerated by the body, is effective against parasites and helps keep my kids healthy. My husband and I take Vermox as well but in a tablet form.
