Bed Head Tigi Superficial Smoothing Liquid for Shiny, Silky HairItem: Bed Head Tigi Superficial Smoothing Liquid for Shiny, Silky Hair
I got the privilege to sample this hair serum for a friend who’s a major retailer for tigi bed head products. She’s nagging me to switch to Tigi since I’ve always loved my citre shine and kerastase for hair care and I often like to traipse between professional salon to non-professional products. I had an inkling this hair leave on liquid may not work for my thick wavy tresses. But generally, I’ve had a good impression of Tigi bed head hair products as great preparations for styling.

I think the hair lotion leaves just the right amount of restraint for my thick texturized hair and retains that bouncy hold. My hair feels soft and manageable because this serum helps to tame each strand and easy to sort out each section with a hairbrush. My strands tend to go along well in clusters and not frizzing out particularly on the tips. I pump a liberal amount concentrating on my hair shaft down to the ends. I like to massage it on the ends to really add some weight in there so they become more pliable and easy to style. The result: It produces a brilliant shine which isn’t any different to Citre shine. My highlights look more vibrant. I apply it with damp hair. Without blow drying, this smoothing liquid will give you a greasy shine so it’s best to aerate those tresses with a hair dryer for a more convincing salon-style shine. When it comes to the fragrance, it’s slightly similar to citre shine’s refreshing citrus scent. But this smells more like a children’s shampoo fragrance, I prefer the Citre shine’s smooth-smelling morning scent. I got accustomed to using L’oreal Oleo relax a long time ago as a priming serum before hitting the hair iron. But this one works just as good and enhances the straightening effect. However, it does have a runny feel that slides on your hands because of its fluidity. Of all silica hair products, this follows next to citre shine because of its incredible shine eventhough I’m not getting that much hair treatments lately. The liquid formulation is highly concentrated so one or two squirts will do, it still startles me how much patent-like shine it generously brings to my very thick asian hair with just a frugal application. I was able to use it for the past 3 weeks and so far the purple bottle looks barely used. I also noticed that in terms of tensile strength, I get less hair breakage on my hair brush. This hip hair serum may sound ’superficial’ but it actually contains ingredients that serve as protective veil against hair damage caused by every day styling. The smell is the only thing I can lament about this product. Somehow, I still find my self spraying Citre shine rarely for an instant hair leave on. At 15 dollars, it’s much pricier than dirt cheap citre shine plus the nauseaous smell is a turn-off. But Bed head tigi superficial smoothing liquid gets a well-deserved 8 out of 10 for me.
