Omron Compact Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor HEM-608Item: Omron Compact Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor HEM-608
I thought of getting a blood pressure monitor so I can take my BP myself when I want to without relying on doctors, clinics and hospitals. I decided to buy one primarily because of my husband who has a tendency to get high blood pressure. He is not yet on medication but I have to make sure that his and my blood pressure is monitored all the time. The Omron Compact Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor is an easy gadget to use which operates on 2 AAA batteries. I just slap it on my wrists or my husband’s , press the start button and it takes the systolic and diastolic pressure. It also measures that heartbeat per minute. I take a second and even a third reading to get the average reading which would reflect my current BP. The LCD screen is also advantageous as you can interpret the reading instantly and even gives an indication if the batteries are used up. I can also store up to 14 readings which gives a history of my BP or anyone else’s which is practical to note if there is a consistent pattern in my blood pressure – high, low or normal. The only thing which I see as a minor discomfort is that once I press the start button, my wrists are really squeezed so tight. Sometimes, I even want to take it off but this is how this device works. Altogether, I am pleased with the performance of this device and its ease of use. I would gladly recommend it as a good BP monitor to buy. Rating: 9
