Fallout 3 Add-onsItem: Fallout 3 Add-ons
Ok so this is just a quick review on the Fallout 3 addons.
Operation Anchorage: The first add on for Fallout 3. It takes place in Anchorage, Alaska while you are to fend of an invasion or “Reds.” Accompanied by Seargent Montgomery, you two pull out powerful weapons to stop the horde captained by Jingwei. This one was particularly fun to play…while it lasted. After you complete the short three-quest storyline to OA you can no longer go back in order to do it again. However, it does yield some very powerful weapons and armor. Overall though, it was hardly worth it because there was no replayability. The Pitt: The second add on for Fallout 3. It takes place in post-apocalyptic Pittsburgh, where the residents are mostly slaves controlled by the slavers. You must find a cure for the spreading disease in the Pitt. I had a lot of fun with this add on. One of the only flaws with it was the fact that you would want to be high-leveled already with a good amount of weapons and ammo. That being because the enemies are pretty tough. This one i found better than OA because of the fact that you can in fact go back into the Pitt after you have completed the main quests. In fact, OA seems to be the only add on where you can not do this. Broken Steel: The third add on for fallout 3. Broken Steel was, for sure, the most worth it for your money. First off, it raises the level cap to 30, which means the game stays fun for a longer period of time. It also continues the original story starting exactly where you left off at the end of the game. (slight spoiler for those who havent finished the game yet)You must help the brotherhood to finish off the enclave who have started to reform at Adams Air Force Base. I can only say that i found this add on the most enjoyable to play. It expands the game far beyond what was originally there, and lets you decide what happens after the end of the game. It also introduces some very powerful armor and weapons, like Enclave Hellfire Armor and the Tesla Cannon. Overall, the best idea would be to buy this add on first, if you would like to make the other add ons a bit easier, while having fun at the same time. Point Lookout: The fourth add on for Fallout 3. PL is also well worth you money. I would say it is the next best choice of add on aside from Broken Steel. It takes place at Point Lookout, Maryland. As you get there you must find A ghoul professor which guides you through a series of challenges to stop the countless amounts of attacking tribals. It would be good to note here that unless you are playing on very easy difficulty the tribals are very hard to kill. I found this add on interesting, as the environment is very eerie. I gives a new effect to Fallout. The add on also introduces some very practical new weapons such as the double-barreled shotgun, and a lever-action rifle. Most of the creatures that you will find in PL though are very powerful though, so be careful. It was still the second best for the money. Mothership Zeta: The last add on for Fallout. I didn’t so much like MZ because even though it gives you a good amount of Alien Power Cells and some futuristic new weapons, it becomes very repetitive. The add on starts with the character traveling to the crashed alien spaceship hidden in the wasteland. Once you get on board, you must help yourself and a couple friends escape…with your lives. At first glance, you will be amazed by the chrome environments and futuristic machines. But that is all the entire add on is. The environment does not change at all, and it becomes boring pretty fast. I liked the idea, however it needed to be developed more, especially with the look of the aliens being too cliched. Overall, i would not buy this one if I were you unless you really wanted the extra Alien Power Cells. That was my review on the five add ons for Fallout 3! hope you enjoyed! Rating: 10
