Roy WilliamsItem: Roy Williams
Last year, the Dallas Cowboys sent a whole mess of draft picks to the Detroit Lions for receiver Roy Williams. I never thought I would ever say this about Detroit, but they got the better end of that deal. I’m not sure what Dallas was thinking. This is the same franchise that once one three Super Bowls with players acquired via a trade for Herschel Walker. Yet, they are on the reverse end of a similar trade now. Williams has talent but not enough to justify all that they gave up for him and he’s starting to show exactly why the Lions felt they could do without him The biggest problem with Williams is he doesn’t seem to be on the same page with his quarterback Tony Romo. That’s something he needs to work out with his passer or he won’t ever achieve the results the team was hoping for when they were thinking he would be their top receiver. Heck, they even got rid of Terrell Owens because they had this guy on their roster. So far, this move looks like a bad one for the Cowboys. I don’t think Williams is a top receiver in the league and they gave up way too much for a guy who is just above average. Rating: 5
