Models of the Runway: NY Here We Come

Item: Models of the Runway: NY Here We Come

Much like the Project Runway final challenge episode that preceded it, last night’s Models of the Runway episode was one that was kind of predictable.
As I have said in past reviews. The major flaw with this show is, with very few exceptions, the designers almost always stay with their model week in and week out. The only time you can be certain of a change is if they are forced to make one and we know they weren’t going to do that in the final episode before fashion week.
Of course, that meant the whole half hour was spent with models whining that they were likely going home because their designers were sent home and talking about how a designer might decide at the last moment to pick them (which, again, we know isn’t going to happen).
Heidi did her part by trying to convince the designers to think twice before picking the same model again; probably hoping the ending wouldn’t be as predictable as expected. But, her words of wisdom were pretty much ignored.
This is a good concept but not one I was overly impressed with after the first couple of episodes. I would be surprised to see this show again next year.

Models of the Runway: Bryant Park Bound
Well, at least the models in Models of the Runway have something to do this time around besides sit around and wait to be eliminated. Since the designers in Project Runway are forced to create one additional, last second outfit for their fashion show, they need to find an additional ...

Models of the Runway
Well, I survived the season premiere of Project Runway and noticed there was a different show on right after, Models of the Runway. Since our infant daughter was wide awake still, i took the time to watch it too. This was something a bit different. Basically, it is a half ...

Models of the Runway: They Love Me, They Love Me Not
OK, I was wrong. When the show Models of the Runway first came out, I assumed, because the judging was on the designers and not them, there wouldn’t be as much cattiness in this competition. Turns out, there was. I do like the whole behind the scenes concept of this ...

Models of the Runway: Hot Mess
Finally. Models of the Runway has been getting a bit boring lately because the designers almost always stick with the models they are used to and don’t make a change from week to week (even the models themselves were commenting about that). So, you can’t imagine how refreshing it ...

Models of the Runway: Hair Today, Hair Tomorrow
Well, since I was up anyway after watching Project Runway, I did take the time to watch Models of the Runway again (though I do think the show is getting a bit on the boring side now). For the most part, it was pretty much the same old stuff. A ...

Models of the Runway: Burlesque Babies
Last night’s episode of Models of the Runway was OK but it is starting to get a bit on the predictable side again. With so few challenges left, I doubt they will force the designers to change models and I doubt the designers will do so by choice. That ...

Models of the Runway: Chic Clique
As I predicted with last week’s Models of the Runway episode, the show is starting to get a bit on the predictable side. Once a designer is eliminated, it is pretty much a given his model will be too since the designers always seem to stick with their models; ...

Project Runway: What a Woman Wants
Well, that was a somewhat interesting Project Runway episode last night; What a Woman Wants. The designers are always asked to make outfits for celebrities and various other people and rely on their models to sell their designs. So, it was an interesting twist last night when their models suddenly ...

Models of the Runway: That’s a Wrap
Well, I wasn’t sure what to expect with the final episode of Models of the Runway considering it came on after the Project Runway finale and we already knew who the winner was. I figured it would be a wrap up episode where they showed her at her modeling ...

Models of the Runway: It’s My Party and I’ll Wear What I Want to
Well, it has happened. When Models of the Runway first came out, I thought it was a refreshing show that gave a nice behind the scenes look at the models of Project Runway. But, I also knew, at some point, the elimination at the end would start getting a ...
