Last night’s final Project Runway challenge was somewhat entertaining. The designers were taken to an art museum and told to create an outfit based on something they were inspired by. This ended up being everything from an old bed to moss on a fountain outside.
I have to tell you though, the designers might have had some inspiration but their outfits weren’t very inspiring. I think Gordana’s was the best and even that wasn’t anything that was impressive; just pretty. I wonder if the judges elected not to pick a winner this time around simply because there wasn’t an outfit worth being declared a winner. You think they would be going all out in this challenge in an effort to make sure they advance to Fashion Week. But, they all seemed to play it very safe this time around.
The elimination wasn’t anything surprising. Christopher and Gordana were sent home and Irina, Carol Hannah and Althea will go on to fashion week. I could have predicted that a couple weeks ago. In fact, I think I did.
I’m actually glad this season is almost over. The designers aren’t as strong as they were in previous seasons and I don’t think this show is worth staying up until 9 p.m. for any more.
