I see the Denver Broncos signed Ty Law; or at least agreed to terms with him considering he still needs to pass a physical.
This is an interesting signing because I’m really not sure how much of an impact the veteran cornerback will have on the team.
I can’t say it’s a bad move. They have quite a few decorated players in their secondary and adding a proven veteran, albeit one who is somewhat passed his prime, is only going to help a team with playoff aspirations. It looks like their coach is following the Patriots’ model of adding veterans at a reasonable price to add depth to a position and experience when it comes to a championship run.
I don’t see Law being a starter on this team. But, I can see him helping the team in nickel situations considering, as recent as last year, he was still capable of covering a star receiver like Randy Moss and being somewhat effective; not because he is necessarily fast enough to do it but does have enough savvy to pull it off.
Assuming he does pass the physical and becomes a member of the Denver Broncos team, I think this was a good move by the Broncos and a great opportunity for Law.
