I recently tried Alexia frozen sweet potato fries and I was very pleasantly surprised by them. I was looking for a good alternative to regular french fries that would provide some extra nutritional punch while still tasting good, and Alexia sweet potato fries fit the bill.
Just like regular frozen french fries, sweet potato fries cook up in 15 minutes in a 400 degree oven. Unlike regular french fries, though, they are low in sodium and saturated fat and high in a number of vitamins and minerals. What’s even more important though, is that they are delicious. If you served these sweet potato fries to kids, I can imagine they might be a disappointed because they lack that fast food fried taste they may expect in a french fry. However, the sweetness and complexity of the sweet potato might win them over and would definitely please a more adult palate more than french fries do. They cook up crispy on the outside and hot and tender on the inside. They are not very salty, so if you tend to crave salt, you may want to add some. Alexia sweet potato fries are a great alternative to french fries. They make a nice addition to most meals, while providing important nutrition. Rating: 9
