Edgerrin James

Item: Edgerrin James

There is a time when every NFL running back realizes it is time for them to retire. I think this might be the time for former Indianapolis Colts star Edgerrin James.
Apparently, the Seahawks have released James after signing him this year to add some depth to their backfield. This is a guy who was once considered one of the top running backs in the league and he’s released by a 2-5 team that he couldn’t even break the starting lineup with. That’s got to hurt.
James, at one point, was a good running back. But, like most running backs his age, hits over the years have taken their toll and he’s just not a player who is anything more than a backup. And, I don’t think he was even that great in that role either.
Now, to be fair, the Seahawks have other issues, including on the offensive line. So, maybe he could show some new life with a different team that has better run blocking. But, I’m not sure how much of an impact he’ll have at this point in the season and he might be better off retiring rather than facing the unemployment line or having to fight with some rookie for a roster spot somewhere next year.

Edgerrin James
He's back. Based on his 2003 results, Edgerrin has put his knee problems behind him to reclaim superstar status. In fact, his 97 rushing yards per game was very comparable to the 102 of his first two NFL seasons in which he was an All-Pro. On November 16, James ...

Edgerrin James
Well that was an interesting move. The Seattle Seahawks decided to sign running back Edgerrin James to a one-year deal yesterday. I know the team is somewhat desperate for a running back but this move really doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. They had an aging back ...

Rams and Colts
Watching this game, I think both the Rams and Colts will be in the playoffs this year. Peyton Manning only played a couple of minutes during the game, but watching him score quickly in his only possession, I'm confident they will be able to put up a lot of points ...

Marvin Harrison
Harrison was already a standout wide receiver before Peyton Manning and Edgerrin James joined the Colts, but his numbers exploded in 1999 after the three joined forces. Blessed with supersonic speed and sticky hands, he finds ways to get open at spots all over the field, and when he ...

James Darren: The Best of James Darren CD
James Darren: The Best of James Darren CD starts of with Gidget, which is probably my favorite Darren song because it goes back so far and is from the movie I so loved him in. He played Moondoggie, and in my book, there was only one Moondoggie worth ...

Jamal Lewis
I just finished reading an article about Browns running back Jamal Lewis and how he plans on retiring after this season. I don’t really think it’s that big of a surprise if you ask me. Even though he is only 30 now, that’s the time when most running backs start ...

Matt Leinart
When the Arizona Cardinals drafted Matt Leinart in the first round a couple seasons ago, they envisioned him as their quarterback of the future. While that may still be true, he certainly isn't living up to expectations yet. Leinart is a decent quarterback and, skills wise, he might even have ...

Ian Fleming - From Russia With Love: A James Bond Novel
I borrowed from my sister this book, and it is a James Bond spy kind. It is a good and fun read. Do you all know that Ian Fleming is the creator of "James Bond"? Now, we are all so ever hyped about James Bond the ...

Arizona Cardinals
A lot of people think this is the year the Arizona Cardinals finally end their losing streak and make the playoffs. I'm not convinced. On paper, the Cardinals have a ton of talent and Ken Whisenhunt definitely has the pedigree. But, I'm still not sure if they can escape the ...

Seattle Seahawks
Well, I guess I was wrong about the Seattle Seahawks this year. I thought they would be a legitimate playoff contender under new head coach Jim Mora but that’s obviously not the case. Not that it is totally his fault. The team has suffered quite a few injuries to key ...
