Travis DanielsItem: Travis Daniels
I see the Kansas City Chiefs have signed veteran defensive back Travis Daniels to add some depth to their secondary after a couple injuries there. It was a necessary move but not one that is going to turn any heads either. For his part, Daniels has been an OK player. He has started 26 games and has three career interceptions plus quite a few pass deflections. If anything, he gives them a veteran presence for this season while they go through a transitional year and attempt to rebuild the roster from scratch. However, I also couldn’t help but notice he hasn’t exactly had experience playing for a winning franchise. He started out with the Dolphins and was part of their 1-15 team a couple seasons ago. He then played for the Browns and we all know Cleveland is the exact opposite of what a good team looks like. Now he’s playing for a Chiefs team that has one win all season and probably will have problems winning any more than that. Still, I like this move. At least it shows the Chiefs are trying to win some games this year rather than just bringing in guys to develop. But, I don’t see him being a major upgrade to the secondary either. Rating: 5
