Tyjuan HaglerItem: Tyjuan Hagler
Well, things aren’t totally perfect for the undefeated Indianapolis Colts. They announced today that they are losing their starting linebacker Tyjuan Hagler for the season due to an injury. That will be a big hit to that defense. OK, maybe not that big of a hit. He’s technically a starter in that cover 2 defense they run but he hasn’t ever been a full time starter, playing in just 37 games over four seasons. He’s a guy that won the job almost by default, in my opinion, because I don’t think they have a whole lot of depth at that position. I mean, he has a total of about 100 tackles over the course of a four year career. That’s not something that stands out in my opinion. If anything, I think the injury might eventually lead to his replacement, unless second year player Phillip Wheeler has that much of a drop off in production when he steps on the field in his place. Still, anytime you do have to replace a starter, it does mess up other parts of your game plan, including special teams so it’ll be interesting to see how the Colts rebound from this injury and how they plan on re-shuffling their roster to make up for him being gone for the rest of the year now.
