Seattle SeahawksItem: Seattle Seahawks
Well, I guess I was wrong about the Seattle Seahawks this year. I thought they would be a legitimate playoff contender under new head coach Jim Mora but that’s obviously not the case. Not that it is totally his fault. The team has suffered quite a few injuries to key positions, including Matt Hasselbeck, who has played hurt. The offensive line also isn’t what it once was. I think the biggest problem this team has is the lack of a legitimate running back. They got rid of Shaun Alexander last year and really haven’t replaced him. Their flirtation with Edgerrin James led to the veteran being released after averaging under 3 yards per carry. Sadly, they apparently were the only ones who didn’t see that coming from a mile away. If you want a veteran has-been as a running back, why not just re-sign Alexander? Bringing in another guy who is past his prime really doesn’t make a whole lot of sense in my opinion. Seattle will likely finish near the bottom in their division (thank God the Rams will prevent them from finishing rock bottom) and will end up with another top 10 pick. They should use it either on a younger quarterback, an offensive line man or a running back. Rating: 4
