Seattle Seahawks

Well, I guess I was wrong about the Seattle Seahawks this year. I thought they would be a legitimate playoff contender under new head coach Jim Mora but that’s obviously not the case.
Not that it is totally his fault. The team has suffered quite a few injuries to key positions, including Matt Hasselbeck, who has played hurt. The offensive line also isn’t what it once was.
I think the biggest problem this team has is the lack of a legitimate running back. They got rid of Shaun Alexander last year and really haven’t replaced him. Their flirtation with Edgerrin James led to the veteran being released after averaging under 3 yards per carry. Sadly, they apparently were the only ones who didn’t see that coming from a mile away. If you want a veteran has-been as a running back, why not just re-sign Alexander? Bringing in another guy who is past his prime really doesn’t make a whole lot of sense in my opinion.
Seattle will likely finish near the bottom in their division (thank God the Rams will prevent them from finishing rock bottom) and will end up with another top 10 pick. They should use it either on a younger quarterback, an offensive line man or a running back.

While the Seattle Seahawks enter the NFC playoffs as the 3rd seed, I have to think they are entering as one of the weaker teams in the post season. The Seahawks were able to dominate their division but there arent many teams in their division with more than a few ...

2007 Seattle Seahawks
A couple of years ago, the Seattle Seahawks were the team to beat in the NFC. This year, they are still a decent team, but not one that is going to make it far in the playoffs. The team got a tough win against the Bears this past weekend, which ...

Deion Branch
Deion Branch, when you hear that name you think of the days when he was a member of the New England Patriots, not the current days with the Seattle Seahawks. Why? Obviously because he is having some very rough years in Seattle. The quarterback just isn't as good, and ...

Seattle Seahawks
Injuries can change the scope of things in the NFL almost overnight. The Seattle Seahawks are the perfect example of this. At one point, the Seahawks looked like legitimate Super Bowl contenders. They had weapons on both offense and defense and still had a future Hall of Fame coach in ...

Matt Hasselbeck
I'm not sure how many people really know who Matt Hasselbeck is. The Seattle Seahawks aren't the most popular football team around, and stuck in the great north=west, it's hard to tell if they'll ever get exposure. Though Matt Hasselbeck just led the Seahawks to a super bown two ...

Deion Branch
After the New England Patriots won a few Super Bowls, they thought it smart to get rid of the players who helped get them there and rest the weight of the world on Tom Brady's shoulders. This was a pill hard to swallow for Deion Branch who was reportly ...

Mike Holmgren
In the National Football League, coaches are a dime a dozen. There seems to be one in and one out on every single team about every three or so seasons average. Mike Holmgren may be one of the only exceptions. His stint with the Seattle Seahawks is looking promising. ...

Jim Mora
Following the end of the 2006 season, the Atlanta Falcons parted ways with their coach Jim Mora. I thought it was a mistake then and still believe that now. Mora, now an assistant with the Seattle Seahawks, was a decent coach who managed some success in Atlanta despite the fact ...

Mike Holmgren
When I think about Seattle Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren, I think of a guy who is a great motivator and a decent play caller; though he isn't very creative. Holmgren has a knack for developing quarterbacks. That's why he's managed to take two teams to the Super Bowl and win ...

Mike Wahle
It's interesting to see NFL Guard Mike Wahle continuing his career with the same coach he started his career with, Mike Holmgren. However, if the Seahawks think they are getting the same dominating lineman that left the Green Bay Packers a couple of years ago, they are mistaken. Wahle is ...
