Going into this season, I thought the Jacksonville Jaguars would have a chance at winning their division, the AFC South. But, they look like yet another division team that will watch as the Colts run away with the title.
Jack Del Rio is a great defensive coordinator but I’m not convinced he’s enough of a motivator or game planner to be a head coach in this league. Let’s not forget, he’s the same coach that once had a player get injured by an ax he left in the locker room. Things really haven’t gotten much better for him since.
The Jaguars, a team that just lost to the previously winless Tennessee Titans, have a few issues that need to be addressed if they ever want to be competitive.
First, they need a new quarterback David Garrard is a good game manager. But, game managers are only going to have success if they have the talent surrounding them to make plays when needed. He doesn’t. And, as a result, he turns over the ball as much as he scores simply because he is lost without any sort of safety net.
They have a great running back but I’m not convinced the offensive line compliments that at all. And, the defense isn’t the greatest.
I think the Jaguars are a team that is on another downward spiral and will likely end up making some changes at the end of the year.
