Riviera hotel casino is a passable fare when walking through the glittery main strip of Las Vegas. Riviera may be a classic house but at the current flashy world of expensive Las Vegas strip, Riviera hotel casino is just another old generation gambling hall. This may be the thing that makes me skip this casino while enjoying a stroll through the northern side of the Las Vegas strip. Riviera is of course the least visited casino in the main strip by me in terms of entry. But I am sure couple of times when entered this old casino, I had spent many hours there gambling, boozing, eating and dancing. The worst thing about Riviera I feel is that you can never spot a hot looking waitress there. Waitresses were either old or they did not socialize. But for gambling at the main strip Las Vegas. Riviera casino is always a good option. I normally see lowest minimum bets compared to other casinos of north strip. Also the tables and poker room get seldom crowded. I take long breaks as and when needed and return to same chair and dealer for continuing the play. The tables have all the fun the gambling at main strip Las Vegas has to offer. Video poker machines were normally hard to find. The machines are not placed in neat order and I usually end up walking around the poker room in search of my favorite games and end up sitting at blackjack tables seeing the closed Roulette tables. Blackjack rules at Riviera do not excite me very much. There were many tables that paid only six to five for a natural blackjack. There were a handful of restaurants a Riviera in both fast foods way and fine dining way. But there is no restaurant that I remember as outstanding. However the food at various counters was usual passable taste. The lunch buffet offered very old common dishes. But the free draft beer that comes with the buffet was a good thing. Riviera also offered free margarita if you do not want draft beer. Talking about the building of Riviera, the entire structure does not capture any attention in middle of sky touching buildings of Las Vegas strip. But Riviera looked colorful and the designer lights were good looking. However the interior did look old and the wrinkles of the ages were visible in the walls. Some of the parts of Riviera looked renovated but in my opinion there is still scope for beautification here and there. Rating: 6
