Tylenol PMItem: Tylenol PM
I have always struggled with insomnia, and have tried various medications that claim to help me fall asleep and stay asleep. So, on a recent shopping trip I picked up a bottle of Tylenol PM because it was on sale.
The label says that the Tylenol PM will help you sleep, and that it’s non-habit forming. That appealed to me because the last thing I want is to end up addicted to a medication. I took 2 tablets before bed on a Sunday night. I didn’t notice a big difference in how I felt, and I didn’t feel particularly tired. I did manage to doze off eventually, after about 45 minutes of laying awake. I still woke up periodically throughout the night as I always do. The next morning I felt slightly groggy, but not too bad. I didn’t think the medication helped too much with my sleep problems, so I thought I would try it again on Monday night. This time it seemed a bit more effective, and I noticed that I seemed to sleep better. After getting a decent night’s sleep on Monday night, I decided not to take the Tylenol PM again on Tuesday night and try to fall asleep on my own. I noticed that I had a very difficult time falling asleep without the medication. I’m not sure if it was my imagination, or if the medicine is in fact habit-forming. I didn’t want to take a chance at getting addicted to it, so now I limit my dose to 2 pills once a week or less. In the meantime, I am still on the hunt for a product that will cure my ongoing insomnia. To me, this product was just okay, it might work for some people, but I would advise anyone using it to be aware that it may be habit-forming. Rating: 5
