When I first heard of this I thought this was some complete set package of a blush on, eye shadow with eyeliner. I laughed when this was a foundation. The main purpose of a foundation aside from concealing flaws is to accentuate your features. It should look natural and match your skin. You need to check a brand which can match your skin tone. Applying it in your wrist is not really effective. The skin color is not the same as your face thus that test will not be helpful. My concern is mainly why my foundation starts to disappear during mid-day? Normally a foundation tends to wear off faster if your skin type is oily or combination. A foundation should resist this kind of problems in order for you to consider it the best. This is important because a foundation is a makeup and it is the layer upon which all other makeup rest. How good the foundation makeup looks will determine how the rest of the cosmetics look hence your foundation should be the best possible product.
You need to deeply scrutinize the ability of a foundation in blending properly in terms of color. It should have the ability to conceal flaws or perhaps transform your skin from not so flawless to the flawless form. In examining the color of Revlon’s New Complexion Makeup, depending on your color choice because there are nine colors, it really blends well to the skin. It gives you a soft tint in your skin making it appear natural and very fine. In terms of satisfying the main objective of concealing flaws, Revlon has achieved it. Indeed from the name alone, it is a new complexion that you will get if you will wear this. Since my skin is typically oily, I would prefer product which are oil-free. This kind of foundation are called water-based. Even if you have a normal skin type if you use a foundation which is not oil-free, still you will experience during mid-day a declining foundation because oil starts to drip in. Most of the common foundation still uses oil-based formula which gives you a thick or heavy coat on your skin which causes oily skin in the process and it ruins the main purpose of concealing the flaws that it is suppose to do. Revlon New Complexion Makeup is oil-free. If a foundation is oil-free it won’t cause any unwanted disappearance of your foundation. The coverage of this foundation is only medium. I was hoping it offers full coverage considering that its name is “new complexion”. But nevertheless, the ability to hide discolorations is still superior for me. The appearance it gives you after using it is something that should outweigh full coverage. The best feature I can give Revlon’s New Complexion Makeup is its ability to coat your skin and transform it to a natural look complexion yet you won’t feel anything. It is like you are not applying anything. With comparison from other products which claims the same lightweight formula, I cannot find anything close to this foundation. There is something that you can sense from your face if that is indeed lightweight or not. A true lightweight foundation makes you forget that you are wearing makeup and this is what I exactly felt when I used Revlon. I would have hoped this comes with a free SPF content to shield your face too from sunlight. I bet this makes it a true blend lightweight makeup because it does not have any SPF contents. Rating: 7
