Aqua Teen Hunger ForceItem: Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Never before have I been so entertained when nothing was happening on screen. That’s what it’s like with Aqua Teen Hunger Force, the most popular show in production from William’s Street, the same company that gave us Sea Lab 2021 and Harvey Birdman: Attorny at Law. The show revolves around, oddly enough, three living pieces of fast food who rent out a small, run down house in New Jersey. The show really doesn’t have much of a plot, as the plot changes during each episode and there is no real continuity The three main characters, like I said, are giant, sentient fast food items. Master Shake, the self-proclaimed leader of the group, is a giant milkshake. He’s mean, vindictive, ill-mannered, and very stupid, often coming up with hairbrained schemes Frylock is the most sensible and intelligent of the three, being a floating, sentient box of fries. He also seems to have the most power out of the three, able to shoot several different lasers from his eyes, and fire his fries out like rockets. Like I said, he’s the only one with any real sense, or moral fiber and tries to act as a role model to the others, though it never seems to work out. He’s Finally, there is Meatwad, who is literally just a giant lump of meat who is able to shapeshift into unusual shapes and sculptures such as a giant hot dog, an igloo, and even a full-size replica of Abraham Lincoln. He’s the most childish of the three and There are a multitude of other characters who frequently appear on the show, usually just to be killed off at the end only to reappear later on down the line, like the Aqua Teen’s neighbor, Carl, a fat slob who is addicted to pornography and works out The show looks like it was created in flash, but it actually works really well. There’s a certain charm to how the show looks, with the backgrounds pretty much being photos while the characters are just cartoonish sprites that are super-imposed But like I said, there isn’t much of a plot, and most of the time in an episode, which lasts for fifteen minutes, nothing gets resolved. In fact, sometimes the plot can change two or three times in an episode, completely abandoning the original And every single episode is pretty much like that. It doesn’t make a lick of sense, but then again, it’s meant to appeal to the random side of our brains, the side that just likes to see crazy, random things that don’t make any sense. It definitely is Rating: 7
