When I was little, at certain times of the year my aunt would return from traveling and bring all sorts of gifts and sweets for my cousins and me. I can remember that some of those sweets were usually butterscotch sweets, toffees and even minds with chocolate in the middle. However, I always thought one of the more interesting sweets was a small red hard candy with a sweet strawberry flavoured jelly in the middle. I now know that the brand that made them was a company called “Arcor”, but at the time, I didn’t even know what they were called.

I think it’s a sweet many children will like since I thought it was fun to eat as well, when I was a little girl. I would try to find different ways to eat it without disrupting the strawberry jelly in the middle. In fact, I think some adults would enjoy it too since once you get down to the middle, there’s a burst of sweet fruitiness, which is especially pleasant if it comes as a surprise to the person eating it.

One thing people need to beware of though is that there are one and two other brands with similar looking sweets, and even labels that don’t make their sweets as good. They don’t even have the jelly inside which I think is the best part of eating it.
