Mermaids casino looks like a street casino is the middle of all biggies in downtown Las Vegas. Yet I visit Mermaids in all my trips to downtown Las Vegas. This is because it is place that really carries the spirit of gambling and where gamblers enjoy slot machines at its best. Mostly small casinos do not attract people since the place will look old and shabby from outside. But Mermaids is not like that. Looking from the Fremont Street Mermaids is well worth a look like a beautiful sea woman.
Frankly when I went inside Mermaids casino first I expected it to be a very low key and empty. But it was contrary. This place had all high energy and inviting. There is always stuff to keep me engaged. In my experience there was nothing like a wait. The people inside mermaids whether they are employees or players, all are friendly with all fun and frolic.
I am surprised only with one thing. Mermaids casino was always the same. I never was able to find a variety entertainment at this place. The location of the casino is in the midst of all at the downtown. And the good thing is that it is not at the unsafe side. The security and cops are always around that part of the downtown Las Vegas. So I did not have any security issues at Mermaids casino.
There is an array of different kinds of slot machines at Mermaids. In fact Mermaids is exclusively for slot machines. I did not find any thing else there. But the machines are well maintained, clean and fault free. The drinks service is excellent and full marks to the staff at Mermaids casino. The majority of slot games are quarter machines. This is different from others were either penny or dollars machines dominate the slot machines collection.
Mermaids casino is also one of the destinations at downtown Las Vegas where I eat a lot. The food there is very less expensive compared to nearby places. And the best thing is that I need not had to compromise on taste or quality with the food there. The waitresses were exceptionally service oriented exceeding the expectations I had from a tiny casino like Mermaids.
Even though I have high regards about Mermaids casino, it has problems still. They should try to provide some varieties. I would welcome more table games there or a fun bar or a dance longue. If they expand in this way I would tell that Mermaids casino will go from good to excellent.
