I found out Rampart casino accidently. It was very near to the Suncoast casino in the locality of Marriot Las Vegas. The best thing I liked about Rampart casino was the posh and class look the casino had. This may be because it is situated in the Marriot area. But the Rampart never qualified to be in my favorite list of casinos. This is because of the fact that this place does not offer many activities. First of all Rampart casino was very far from the main strip or downtown Las Vegas. The drive was around eighteen miles. So unless there is not a reason there is no point in going to this casino. There are many similar casinos near the strip itself. But I mostly look for variety places at Las Vegas where I have visited almost all the casinos. Due to this Rampart casino was a different experience for me. Even though the Rampart casino looked stylish, this casino was filled with mostly locals. I think the strategy of Rampart casino is to attract locals. So all the stuff at Rampart casino was less expensive; at least from what I expected from a Marriot property. The slot machine collections offered many penny games. But what I was really surprised was with big fleet of video poker machines Rampart casino had. The number of table games was not huge, but the collection was enough for crowd at Rampart. I did not find any difficulty in getting a seat at my favorite game of double deck blackjack. The rules were fine. After all nowadays the blackjack games at all casinos have deteriorated rules at Las Vegas. Roulette table was not open most of the time I was there. Rampart Buffet was very good in terms of taste and cost. To my surprise they also served dinner which was not very common at other buffet hotels. I had also glanced through menus of other restaurants at Rampart casino. There were at least half a dozen of restaurants at Rampart casino. Going through the menu I understood it is easily possible to have some good bites at Rampart restaurants for less than ten bucks. Rampart casino is definitely not part of the mainstream entertainment of Las Vegas. But there is something enjoyable at Rampart. In my experience may be it is the less expensive things that come from a posh atmosphere or may be simply a different ambience that takes us away from the crowded main strip or fading downtown Las Vegas. The Rampart experience did not let me down. Rating: 8
