Sudacare Children’s Nighttime Vapor-Plug Mini Waterless vaporizerItem: Sudacare Children’s Nighttime Vapor-Plug Mini Waterless vaporizer
I bought the sudacare children’s nighttime waterless vaporizer because I used sudafed myself and you can no longer give cold medications to children under 2. I do use a humidifier in my toddler’s room and I wanted to see how this was different. To use the kit you unwrap a pad and slide it into the provided unit. It slides in easily and there is no way to mess it up. You then plug it into a wall. There is no need to plug it in which I found helpful, you really cannot use this product incorrectly. After a few minutes the room fills with the smell of eucalyptus and methol. The directions said to wait around an hour for it to work, but I found it to be working much quicker than that. For around $20 you receive 1 plugin and 5 pads. Each pad is to be thrown away after 1 use which it suggests is around 8 hours. I did use mine for one whole day, unplugging it when my baby was not napping and I found it to be just as effective. When my baby woke from sleep she had less congestion and coughing than when she went to bed. The congestion did not last all day, but I could really tell the difference. It does not work as well as taking medicine, but for children who are not old enough or who are already taking medicine and need a little extra help, this is a great product. I have previously used a humidifier in my toddler’s room and the problem I have with that is that everything has a cool feeling which worries me in the winter months. I worry that the humidifier is making her room too cold. The sudacare vapor plus gets the same results without changing the temperature at all which I really liked. Because of the cost we only use this product for really bad colds, but I would recommend it to others because it is a non medicinal way of making your child feel better. The only problems I have with the product are on the box. It tells you not to use around pregnant women or pets and not to use in enclosed spaces. I wonder whether it really is safe if I cannot use it around pets. I understand the pregnant woman part, most medications that have not been tested on pregnant women tell you not to use on them, but humidifiers do not have the same warning. Rating: 10
