Fitzgeralds Casino & Hotel Las VegasItem: Fitzgeralds Casino & Hotel Las Vegas
Fitzgeralds usually called by the people there as Fitz stood very tall at downtown Las Vegas. I wanted an average stay at downtown Las Vegas and booked at Fitzgeralds casino and hotel. I was impressed when I reached downtown when I could see the Fitz tall tower even from good distance. May be it looked enormous than it is really in the interior. The check in was easy and I got a free upgrade too. That was very nice of the service person and casino host. These people were really nice and courteous. And the best thing was that I was not a big roller. But I was a regular visitor indeed and do some table hopping gambling and medium betting. This gives me the impression that the player’s card of Fitzgeralds is getting liberal. The room was pretty average. The only outstanding thing was that it had a separate small living room kind of place with a television. That gave the room pseudo suites feel. Rest of the stuff was normal. The room was very clean and house keeping was very well on time. The amenities were not posh but usable. There was an exclusive swimming pool for Fitz tenants and it was good. The table games at Fitzgeralds slightly disappoint me most of the time. The double deck blackjack which is one of my favorite games was hard to find at Fitz. The six deck blackjack rules were not liberal either. Only good thing about the table games here was the minimum bets were not very high. The games are affordable and I managed to play couple of hours without losing my shirt. The steakhouse at Fitzgeralds was a nice place with very entertaining people and tasty steaks. In fact the steakhouse was the only fine restaurant I could see at the Fitz. A buffet was there. But in my experience this buffet is avoidable. It was not worth the money and many of the dishes were awful. The Fitz casino did not seem to be very busy most of the time. This makes the poker room very manageable and waiting time was less. Also I tried some good sports betting at the calm sports betting area of Fitzgeralds. Also there was no night club or any dance longue there at Fitz which disappointed me. The Fitzgeralds casino and hotel definitely will not find a place in my list of top places at downtown Las Vegas. But it had its own charm when come to nice helpful staff. Rating: 7
