Lazy Days CampgroundItem: Lazy Days Campground
My family and I spent some time at this campground late in August. The campground itself was very pretty - lots of trees and nicely landscaped without being to delicate. The price was right for all the amenities we had. Electric, water and sewer was $35 per day and I thought that was really reasonable because it was a nicely forested area with a lake for canoeing and swimming. We have a large pull behind camper and there are lots of areas to park – I think it was in the vicinity of 300 sites nice place to pull in and out. They have rates for church groups and other groups like scouts etc. where it costs only like $2 a kid. The camping for the kids groups was for tents only but those sites were nice too. While we were there, there was a group of kids who were enjoying themselves. The campground was large enough that they could play very easily without being crowded and interfering with other peoples camping. If you are really desperate to camp you can even rent trailers from them and they had quite a variety.
We spent a lot of time at the swimming beach which is primarily sand and a really nice place to swim. The area is large which makes it easy to watch youngsters in the water. There is even a floating dock that you can dive off of. My kids absolutely love that and so did my husband and I, we like to swim too. The beach is clean and there is never any junk or odors from garbage. There are trees surrounding almost the entire area. It is very pleasant place to camp with plenty of place to play and spots for adults to congregate under the trees in the shade to watch the kids The kids playground is always busy with a big variety of equipment for the kids to climb on or swing on. The equipment is well maintained so the kids don’t get hurt. Our kids had a great deal of fun hiking around the area too - there are plenty of places to explore. The lake is really clean because it is fed by springs. It is always fresh and cold and is an excellent place for fishing. My husband has taken the canoe out on the lake and pulled in nice panfish which we had a meal of at the camp site – that was cool!!!!! My husband also got his bait at the grocery store. The grocery store has everything you could ever want in it including LP and gas, if you should you run out. The had TP, coffee, soap, milk, all the necessities, plus so much more. You can even rent a boat if you want to fish. My husband spent a great deal of time out on the lake fishing while we were there. The campground has lots of events going on too. Craft and bake sales are really popular at the campground also. It is really cool, we try to get to the craft and bake sales. There is such a variety things for sale. Pies, cakes, pretzels, kolaches and specialty baked things. I have purchased a wooden rocker there, concrete stepping stones and wind socks to hang on the trailer. I also have a flamingo that dips up and down the stands at the end of our drive. All the campers think that is so kool and it came from there too. There is a great place to wash up, the water is always hot with plenty of it and the area is very clean. In fact the campground has been immaculate when we have been there. It is easy to empty your sewage and wash out. That has to be the handiest thing in a campground. The staff that run and take care of the campground are extremely pleasant and helpful. They go out of their way to help you. They have even quieted the place down when the parties have gotten to loud. I can’t imagine a nicer group of people running a place. Rating: 9
