Spectro Eczema Care Intense Rehydration CreamItem: Spectro Eczema Care Intense Rehydration Cream
I have suffered from mild eczema for years, and although it is a hassle, it has never been severe enough to require more than the occasional prescription cortisone cream. I have found that the cortisone cream is very hard on my dry skin, and I am not convinced that it has any long-lasting benefit. I would say that I suffer from small patches of eczema on a few places on my body, mainly on my hands and behind my knees, a few times a year, and it seems to be unrelated to the weather or even stress. It is a pain to go get a new prescription for cortisone cream each time I have an outbreak, and a friend recently recommended a non-prescription, inexpensive cream that helps her severe eczema, so I decided to try it on mine.
I went to the drugstore to look for the medicated cream she used, called Spectro Eczema Care Intense Rehydration Cream. I actually did not find this product at the first drugstore I went to, but I did find it at a London Drugs location in my city. It was not in the cosmetics area, but in the medicine and skin treatments section. It was only $16.99 for a 100gram tube, which is extremely inexpensive for even a non-medicated skin cream. The packaging said that is was even safe to use on my face, which I was skeptical about, given how thick and strong cortisone creams are. It is also fragrance-free, and contains many ingredients which sound medical and that I cannot pronounce. So, I applied the surprisingly light cream to my hands and behind my knees, and it did not sting like cortisone does at all, but felt soothing. It took the itchiness away immediately, and after 2 days of applying it three times a day, I noticed that the patches of eczema became less red, and then slowly, after 4 days, went away. The packaging also stated that this cream can be preventative as well, so I decided to use it on the places where I get the breakouts, and that was 3 weeks ago, and I haven’t had another outbreak. The cream is also not greasy at all, and it absorbs into the skin quickly and thoroughly. For people that suffer from eczema on their face, this cream would be okay to put on your face, which is a great feature. Spectro Eczema Care Intense Rehydration Cream seems to work better than even prescription cortisone creams for eczema, and it is inexpensive, non-greasy, absorbent and effective. Being available without a prescription is also convenient. Rating: 9
