Geico Car InsuranceItem: Geico Car Insurance
We have used Geico for our car insurance for several years now. The first couple years I would call around to see if we could find a better rate and I was never able to. I no longer do that practice because I found out that it can bring your credit score down temporarily. The last time I called around I found a company whose rate was quite close to Geico, so I called Geico and they reviewed my policy and were able to save me some money by making some changes. At the time of the last policy change our larger vehicle, a minivan, was out of commission due to a problem with the transmission. Once we got that vehicle repaired we called Geico to change the coverage from our sports car to the van and the rate skyrocketed. I was quite disturbed by the change in the rate but Geico could not find a way to lower our rate. We save some money by paying our policy all at once, but we can also pay it over four months, receive a discount, and not pay for two months, or we can pay per month for six months. We usually pay all at once or with the four month plan. My only complaint so far with the company is the change to our towing. When we set up the plan we made sure that it included towing, then when we needed towing I found out that they had not kept it on the policy once we put the van as the primarily insured car. I like how they answer the phone quickly when I call them and how I can pay my bill and make changes to my policy online. Geico has been the best insurance company we have insured with so far, I highly recommend the company.
