Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Blind DateItem: Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Blind Date
Exhausted after having to play helper to blind rehearsal pianist Michael; Larry decides to fix him up with a new girlfriend to take the strain of off him. After thinking over potential partners; Larry finds the perfect girl…an Islamic fundamentalist.
Meanwhile, Ben Stiller leaves “The Producers” unable to work with Larry anymore and only Mel Brooks seems to take Larry’s side. Jeff insults and sickens Larry with the news Cheryl has popped into his latest masturbation fantasy and a revealing Halloween costume on Susie forces his foul mouthed nemesis into Larry’s own carnal thoughts. This is a great episode, packed with laughs and some hilarious encounters. Larry’s in his prime as he bickers with a blind man, lunches with the mentally handicapped and forces his wife out of a sexy Halloween outfit and into his new Muslim friend’s extremely conservative clothes. Unlike most episodes, Larry’s not really the fool in this game; he gets to have fun and go about more or less unscathed for the most part, allowing for a light and frothy episode that’s a nice distraction from the ongoing rehearsals of The Producers. There’s a lot of visual humour on offer here, and while Larry’s on top form as usual, some slightly more obtuse and cartoon like humour allows for bigger laughs than you’ll usually expect. Rating: 8
