The Edge Chronicles # 1: Beyond the Deepwoods is illustrated fantasy novel by author and illustrators who came from England that is, Paul Stewart and Chris Riddel. This book tells the adventures of twig, a child thirteen years old with setting a very strange land called The Edge. Since the age of the baby, twig raised by woodtroll partner, Spelda and Tumun in front of their residence in the cottage in the woods Depwoods. At age thirteen, twig began to realize that different from the environment himself is occupied by woodtroll. As the twig to know that he was found by Spelda in front hut, twig began trying to find his true identity, who parents real twig, and where he came from.
For lovers of fantasy novels, it was worth to read book. Because intended for readers teenagers, the plot in this book are quick and not complicated. Adventures twig was charming and very imaginative. Each chapter presents an adventure and encounters with monsters different, so almost all the chapters in this novel were titling in accordance with the monster that must be resisted by twig. Freed from the threat of monsters in one chapter, an unexpected adventure with Another monster waiting in the next chapter. For those accustomed to reading fantasy stories of Europe, some mythological creatures in the name of this novel will not foreigners, such as trolls, goblins, trogg, and so on.
